What is the Church of Christ?
First, we believe that God's Word, or the Bible, is the only source that God has provided for Christians to live by. In His word, we find the means to salvation which is only possible through God's sacrifice of his only son, Christ Jesus. We believe that we are to follow the example set forth by the bible, and we are not allowed to add to or take away for God's Word (Rev. 22:18-19).
Plan of Salvation:
Hear - Romans 10:17
Believe - John 8:24
Repent - Luke 13:3,5
Confess - Matthew 10:32
Be Baptized - Mark 16:16
Live Faithfully - 2 Timothy 4:7-8
The Lord's Supper
At the Church of Christ, we observe the Lord's Supper every Sunday, just as the Christians did in New Testament times (Acts 20:7).
Singing
We also do not include a band, instruments, or choir, at the church of Christ because the use of these was never allowed in the New Testament. Instead, we praise our Lord with only our voices as was commanded (Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16)
The Name
The name of the church of Christ is not a denominational name, it just declares the church is of Christ.
Also referred to as:
The church of the Lord. (Acts 20:28)
The body of Christ. (I Corinthians 12:27)
The house of God. (I Timothy 3:15)
The church of God. (Galatians 1:13)
Those baptized in the body of Christ are referred to as Christians (Acts 11:26)
